Proverbs from (a) Moe (that’s) Long

The child’s foot always finds the poo

For nine blessings, one misfortune outweighs them all

You are what you eat, and you are how you work

The less you say the less you’ll be misunderstood

A barking dog makes a bad neighbour

Raise children within a marriage. Two parents are greater than one

The educated beget the educated

Better results aren’t always quicker results. And a short proverb doesn’t contain all wisdom

Though you work long hours you will still need to clean the dishes

“People are slaves to whatever has mastered them”

None are unhurried, no, not one. All are busy. Their calendars are full. Their tasks are not done. The venom of limitation is in their bones. Their complaints are always in their mouths. Their feet are swift, yet the way of peace is unknown to them.

Little is necessary but much is customary

Ethics before economics and virtue before value

The greatest conspiracy theories are true because there is no evidence they are not true

Don’t stereotype, but do generalise

The traditionalist gives communion to the unknown stranger but withholds from the known child

Don’t let your eulogy be your work history

The unrighteous wants to baptise their child. Yet the righteous doesn’t?

The more news you know the less informed you will be
